Peter Goodman started his career in business brokerage in 2003. Since that time he has sold well over 100 businesses of various types and sizes, from manufacturing to restaurants to retail stores, from service businesses to distribution companies. His typical transaction involves small businesses ranging in size from main street to over $15 million in revenue. Peter is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) through the International Business Brokers association (IBBA), a Certified Mergers and Acquiistions Profesional (CMAP) and regularly participates in and teaches educational classes for business brokerage. He is also a licensed real estate broker and can therefore handle the sale of real estate along with a business.

As a CBI, Certified Instructor, Board of Governors Member and Fellow of the International Business Brokers Association, Peter Goodman is formally trained in all aspects of the business brokerage process. Only 5% of business brokers have such a Certification. He also served President of the New England Business Brokers Association from 2016 to 2021, a local non-profit organization that promotes education, cooperation and a high standard of ethics among the region’s professional business brokers.

Peter works with almost every type of business, such as retail, service, distribution and manufacturing companies. To begin the sales process a valuation analysis of the business is produced, which shows the true profitability of the subject company. The net income line on a business's tax return is for tax purposes only and does not reflect the true earnings power of the business. By properly analyzing a business' financial statement, the 'true' profitability of the business can be determined, which is instrumental in setting a sales offering price.
